The Wizard-Dervish. Source: Myth &
Notes:

  •  Fear
    • It starts out with the mom asking the son to close the door because she has fear, he does not know what that is so he sets out to find it
    • When out to find it he comes across different situations that should cause him fear but do not. The things that tried to scare him ended up being 3 maidens and they wanted him to stay with them but he wouldn't since he had not figured out what fear was.
    • He then ended up in a crowd of people where he was then picked to be their Shah but he did not want to. After some convincing they got him to be it for a day but the Shah dies after a day.
    • Still, that did not scare him, and the people saw he was alive the next day, telling the Sultana he was still alive. After that the Sultana made the cook put a live sparrow in the soup for dinner
    • During the dinner, the Sultana made the young Shah despite him not wanting to open it and the sparrow gave him a moment of fear.
    • His mother was brought to the palace and they lived happily ever after.
  • This story just shows that the young son found fear when he truly stopped looking for it. So, during all those different times he was prepared for it and so he did not feel it.
