Introduction... All About Me!

 HELLO!

Once again, my name is Cheyenne Rinehart! I am 21 years old, about to be 22 years old on February 8th. I currently live in Texas with my husband who is in the military. I am also 7 months pregnant with a boy and am in my last semester of college!

When first coming to OU I started out as a nursing major before I switched over to Social Work. I felt like this was the perfect fit for me because I wanted to help people in their daily lives. I think one of the coolest things about my major is just all of the people. There have been so many of my instructors and classmates that I am close to. Another thing I really love about it is the practicum experience. I am completing mine in a school system and it has been a wonderful experience.

Hobbies

One of my favorite hobbies to past time is reading. I will read anything that I think sounds interesting, it could be fiction or non-fiction. My second favorite hobby is sewing. If not reading then I am always sewing something to give to other people. I mainly love to make blankets, especially faux fur blankets, for my family and friends. Then my last favorite hobby is doing puzzles. There are times where my roommate, husband, and I will spend hours working on a puzzle together.

 Favorite

Currently my favorite food choices have changed due to pregnancy. I absolutely love cuties, the little oranges, and can eat a bag of them a day… Also with Mexican food, I now eat it all the time throughout the week even though it ends up giving me heartburn! My least favorite food right now is meat… which is sad to me because I use to love it before pregnancy.

My favorite tv shows are Criminal Minds, NCIS, Gilmore girls, the OC, and Hart of Dixie. My favorite movies are Remember the Titans and Burlesque. Lastly, my current favorite song is Since I Left You by Joy Crookes. She is also my current favorite artist. Her voice is really beautiful to listen to, so if you have the time look her up!

UPDATE:

Since this post, I am now 38 weeks pregnant and still waiting on my little guy to be born. I am definitely ready because there is no more room for him and I am constantly getting kicked in the ribs. Below I just included some maternity pictures my friend took for me and will update again when he is born!

  1. Hi Cheyenne!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! That little boy is going to be so lucky to get to snuggle up in your faux fur blankets!
I have always wanted to learn how to sew. Did you take a class or are you self taught? My mom is pretty good at fixing rips and even made me the cutest skirt once! I have tried to sew a pillow, probably the easiest thing to sew, and failed miserably... help.
Mexican food is amazing! It's a good thing you're in Texas because I am a huge believer that Tex Mex is superior. Mi Cocina is a personal favorite!
Burlesque is also such a comforting choice. The soundtrack can just make me smile.
I hope you have a great semester!

    1. Thank you! I am super excited I only have a month left and cannot wait! I have been sewing since my freshman year of high school. I started out making corn pillows then moved to blankets. I mainly sew everything by hand which can be time consuming. The biggest thing I sewed by hand was a 3 yard fashion faux fur blanket and it took roughly a week. I just recently got a sewing machine so maybe I can start to make clothes! I am always fixing peoples close when they get ripped.

  2. Hi Cheyenne!
First of all, congratulations!! That’s so exciting that you’re having a baby boy. What are you planning on naming him?
I had thought about switching my major to Social Work, but I ended up adding HES.
Your blanket looks super soft and I want one. I’ve always wanted to learn how to sew but I’ve never had the time.
What’s your favorite Mexican restaurant? I love Mexican food and trying new places. Hopefully after you have the baby, you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite foods again.

It was nice getting to know you. Good luck on your life journey!

  3. Hello Cheyenne!

Your life sounds so amazing and fun! Congratulations on finishing up college this semester and being pregnant! I love that you found a path in life that really resonated with you and the impact you want to make on others. My current capstone is over an organization that does just that so It's cool to see firsthand someone so passionate about it. My jaw dropped when I saw how amazing the blanket you made looked. I have one just like it but I definitely did not make it. That just goes to show how good your work is! Your pregnancy cravings are so great to me because they seem so unusual from the crazy other kinds of pregnancy cravings I've heard about. I also love cuties!!!

  4. Hi Cheyenne! First of all, happy early birthday :) I hope you have fun celebrating tomorrow! And that's so exciting to hear about your pregnancy. You must have so much on your plate considering you're graduating this semester as well, so I wish you all the best. Social Work is such an important field and I'm glad that you're enjoying the practicum experience. That blanket looks amazing! I wish I had your talent, but unfortunately I'm severely lacking in my artistic abilities.

  5. Hi, Cheyenne. It's Drew again. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope the baby is developing wonderfully and is born super healthy. On the subject of not liking meat while you're pregnant, my girlfriend would love that because she's vegan. She'd probably say your baby will have super powers now. That's awesome you're passionate about social work. It's not always an easy job from what I've heard and having passion when the going gets tough will serve you well. Good luck with your last semester!

  6. Hi Cheyenne,
That blanket looks so cute and soft. I also enjoy sewing but my doctor suggested I take a break because I now have repetitive stress injuries in my hands. My last project was modifying a blazer into a tailcoat, because it is the 20's and I already have the top hat and bow tie. I don't have a sewing machine yet but maybe once I get done with all this schooling stuff I'll get one, to spare my hands more than anything. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope everything goes well.

  7. Hi Cheyenne, nice to meet you! Congratulations on your pregnancy! It’s funny that you’re craving cuties, because my mom ate a lot of oranges when she was pregnant with me. It’s so weird how that happens! The blanket you made looks so cozy—I’ve been wanting to crochet one, but I don’t think it would turn out as soft as yours. I really like the blog design you chose too.

  8. Hey Cheyenne,
Awesome that you are in your last semester of college and will be having a baby boy soon! Congratulations on both of those great things! I'm excited for your future as it sounds like there are some great things coming for you. Social work is an incredible field. I know a few friends that have gone into that field and to me it sounds challenging but absolutely an important and life-changing field. Social workers do great things and I hope you enjoy it as well! Also, Mexican food is incredible. I could eat it every day as well. Wonderful food. Hope you have an amazing last semester, Cheyenne!

  9. Good morning Cheyenne,
Having a baby and completing your degree in the same year... wow! Despite the craziness of 20/21 it looks like this year is shaping up to be a very memorable one for you, in all the best ways! I hope you get to explore Texas a little if you're not from there, it's a great state. I lived in New Braunfels (outside of San Antonio) for awhile and my parents incessantly dream about moving back or just getting a small house in Gruene when they retire. Check out Gruene and float the river this summer if you're close! I know military life can sometimes be stressful and/or nomadic, but I hope you learn to roll with the punches and see the myriad of silver linings that come with being in the military! Have a great semester!

  10. Hey Cheyenne,
First off congrats on your pregnancy and having a baby boy soon. I am also in my last semester of college so I know you have a lot on your plate. We only have a couple of months left though so there are couple of things to look forward to. I actually just recently started watching criminal minds and it is a really good show. If you are into true crime another good show is SWAT, I believe it is on Hulu. Look forward to reading your stories this semester!

  11. Here I am finally getting around to the last of the Introduction posts, Cheyenne: I totally lost track of those this semester (argh! blame the pandemic!), so it is nice connecting up at last with everybody... and learning this incredible news from you: congratulations on your pregnancy! I guess that means you are very close to having your baby, since this post is from six weeks ago or so: wow! That is so beautiful to hear. If you feel comfortable sharing pictures, please do. What a wonderful time for you and your husband! These babies born during the pandemic are such a blessing, like a promise of everything good we can hope for in the future if we can just keep making progress to the other side of this pandemic. And I'm guessing it is a good thing you like to work on puzzles! That way when you are up at odd hours just rocking your beautiful baby, you can play with a puzzle too. I am wishing you all the best as you get ready for this wonderful addition to your family: congratulations again!!!

  12. Hi Cheyenne!
Congrats on your pregnancy! My parents never seemed to be able to have boys, so we are a big family of girls. I think it is really cool that you found something you are passionate about and you were able to change your major. My mom constantly ate Mexican food when she was pregnant with me, and still does to this day. Maybe that's why I can only handling eating Mexican so often. Criminal Minds is one of my favorite shows to watch and unwind too, which sounds weird since the show contains themes of murder. Looking at when you first posted your introduction, your little baby bean should be born soon, so I wish you the best of luck!

  13. Hi Cheyenne!
First of all, congratulations! Have you sewed anything for your baby yet? I do not sew, but I do like to embroider. I also crochet. I like having something to do with my hands while I watch tv. My father does most of the sewing in my family. My mom tried to sew something once, and she ended up sewing it to her pants! Congrats again!

  14. Cheyenne,

That's so awesome that you are passionate about social work! I, too, love to serve and help people, so it's very cool that you were able to find a field that you are passionate about and that allows you to do that. Also, congrats on the baby! That's so awesome, and I bet you are so excited!! Hope your semester is going well!

First off congratulations on the baby! I'm 23 and I can't even imagine having a kid right now haha. Helping people is a great goal and I wish you luck in your career! The semester is basically over now so I hope you had a great one! Best of luck in your future endeavors and to your family!
