Notes on Deucalion and Pyrrha Story
- Characters
- Jupiter, Neptune (Poseiden), Deucalion, Pyrrha (Deucalion's wife),
- Story:
- Jupiter is angry at what mankind does
- floods the earth destroying it with Neptune's (Posiden) help.
- There are two survivors: Deucalion and Pyrrha
- They worshipped the Corycian nymphs, the mountain gods, and the goddess Themis
- Jupiter saw the two survivors and seen that they worshiped the gods so he cleared the flood with Triton, the son of Neptune.
- The world was restored
- Asked Themis for help/what to do next
- Pyrrha is told to scatter the bones of her mother
- The bones are also referred to as stones.
- They slowly turned into a marble-like statue then made into people
- This was done by the power of the gods, Deucalion's stones turned to man while Pyrrhas turned to women.
